The lele kawa ceremony at Puʻu Kekaʻa draws a crowd to the north end of the beach every evening, and the light over Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi brings everyone else down to the sand. It is one of the best half hours anywhere on this coast. It is not quiet.
So the practical value of a local coordinator is mostly about knowing where and when. Which stretch of coast is empty at the hour you want. What the tide and the swell are doing to the spot you saw in a photograph. Where you can actually park a small group along this coast without three cars circling for forty minutes.
